Time Passages Pens

These pens are constructed in various pen styles. There are many steps in the process, I will list them for you here.  Steampunk Pens, Steampunk, Steampunk Style, Steampunk Style pens, watch parts pens, watch pens. watch parts pens, watch gear pens, watch face pens, watch dial pens
1. I fill a brass tube with weight and cork them. I then glue a carbon fiber sleeve on the tube.
2. I buy old watch parts or take apart old watches for the parts.
3. Using a metal block with a curved channel I put a gentle bend in all the gears to fit the tube.
4. I usually bend the watch face by hand so the metal channel does not scratch the watch face.
5. One at a time I glue the watch face and all the tiny gears onto the carbon fiber sleeve.
6. In a small container I pour a layer of casting material taking much care to avoid any air bubbles.
7. Once the first layer has dried I place the now completed weighted tube on top of it and pour a second cast layer.
8. Once this had dried I pour the third casting layer, again taking care to avoid any air bubbles.
9. Once completly dry I trim the casted blank into a block trim off the ends, remove the inside weight and square the ends.
10. Finally I mount the blank on my lathe and turn it as in my demo on the About Pen Construction page.
